If you would encounter the Script Error Issue, you may try our Web Launcher
Please remember to use your Internet Explorer when trying to use the Web Launcher.

You may also use the RAN Online Old Launcher

go to Ran Online Folder (program files>e-games>Ran Online)
Backup your ranlauncher.exe (copy the ranlauncher.exe and go up one folder and paste it under the "e-Games" folder)
Open the file ranlauncher.rar on your Download folder and extract the files.
You may follow these steps on how to extract the old ran launcher to the correct destination folder:

(IMG:http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6199/6078370747_27c4e4eef9.jpg)
Select ranlauncher.exe and hit the Extract button.

(IMG:http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6066/6078911664_f1f9f6204a.jpg)

OTHER SOLUTIONS

Unlocking Windows 7 32-bit to use more than 4gb of memory - this is useful if you do have a computer with more than 4gb of memory and you have compatibility problems in 64-bit Win7 against most 32-bit programs, which includes older applications and games.

In this case, there are tools and instructions that can allow you to unlock Windows 7 to use this excess memory by modifying the kernel (please do note that there are caveats, and some antivirus software may generate a false positive):

http://www.pallab.net/2009/12/30/enable-mo...indows-vista-7/
http://www.raymond.cc/blog/make-windows-7-...han-4gb-memory/

Running Windows XP as a virtual machine - For technical users, VMWare Player or VMWare Fusion allows you to create and use a Windows XP virtual machine within the Windows 7 environment. Again, there are instructions for installation, configuration and use of VMWare to run some of your favorite games, including Ran Online.

Of course, it'll take some effort to make this work properly, especially as you have to run those games under certain configurations:

http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/virtual...ort-vmware.html
http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/resources/faqs.html
http://www.techgremlin.com/2009/10/28/vmwa...ndows-xp-games/ (use Safe Mode)

In other words: with VMs, results may vary.

From poksol ( http://forums.ranonline.com.ph/index.php?showuser=18499 )

-------------
I'm just an old school player who has quit RAN PH a long time ago. I just thought I'd visit my old character and recently installed RAN on my Windows 7 64 bit PC. To my dismay, I was getting an error which I do not think that the devs has found a workaround yet. A known issue for 64 bit users who wants to play RAN. I browsed the forums but I did not see any solution which worked including launching the game from the web using IE and using the old RAN launcher.

(IMG:http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6081/6078358727_afc15375a6.jpg)

I am now posting the solution which worked for me to help those who are having the same issue. The solution is below:

Click the run button and open the Control Panel
Browse to the section of System Maintenance then to the System
At the left side, select Advanced System Settings link
In the System Properties Window the top section is named as Performance with the Settings button. Click this button.
Choose the Data Execution Prevention tab.
Select the option which reads Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
Use the Browse button to locate the executable files in your RAN folder (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Games\Ran Online) and click Open to add it to your exceptions list.
Click Apply or OK to commit your changes.

Make sure you include the executable files named game, launcher and ranlauncher to the list. Do not include the uninstall and xcrashreport to the exception list.

You should now be able to login to RAN in your win7 64 bit system. If anyone would like to create a neater version of this solution will be most welcomed. The goal here is to help others and not take any credits or anything for this solution.

I may not be online again for another few years so comments and rants or any violent reactions will get nowhere.

Ciao
